Coverage of Court Proceedings

PHOTOGRAPHING, FILMING, RECORDING, OR STREAMING A COURT PROCEEDING

The public and media may be asked to participate in trials or hearings remotely either by streamed video or telephonic conference, due to space limitations in the courtroom.

Felony trials and other high profile proceedings may be livestreamed for public viewing. For other proceedings, some judges are providing telephonic opportunities for the public to participate. See Telephonic Hearings and Conference Lines. Contact the court to find out the method for public participation or to request access to an upcoming hearing or trial.

You must have permission from the court to take screenshots or record a livestream.

FORM

Application for Photographing, Filming, Recording, or Streaming a Court Proceeding (TF-945)
- under "Type of Coverage/Device", check "Other" and write in "screenshots", "video recording", and/or "audio recording" or similar.
- Send the completed TF-945 to the Media Liaison for the district where the trial is being held. Court Locations by Judicial District.
- Once approved by the judge presiding over the case, you have permission to use the feed and crop out any watermarks.
