IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE STATE OF ALASKA

                      ORDER NO.    1323    

                                   Amending Appellate Rule 217(e)
                                   concerning the length of briefs
                                   in appeals from the district
                                   court to the court of appeals.


IT IS ORDERED:

     Paragraph (e) of Appellate Rule 217 is amended to read:
     
               (e)  Unless otherwise ordered by the
Court of Appeals, the appellant's and appellee's briefs may not
exceed 20 numbered pages each, exclusive of appendices. The
appellant's reply brief may not exceed 10 pages.
